UK School Games '07

100% ME at the UK School Games 2007, 24-26 August 2007 in Coventry was a very successful Outreach.

All team managers were provided a fact sheet introducing them to the 100% ME programme and encouraging them to involve their athletes in the various activities UK Sport would run during the Games, plus a complimentary pen and lanyard.

The Outreach Zone, set-up at 4 different venues, reaching competitors in 7 sports over the course of Saturday and Sunday was a huge success. 1300 athletes, their support personnel and parents were reached over the 3 days of competition.

A signature panel was available for all athletes to sign to register their drug-free sport and the 100% ME ambassadors spoke about their experiences and answered questions.

On Friday evening Mike Stow and Anton de Villiers delivered a talk to the Scotland fencing team – the feedback from this session was very positive and all the fencers visited the Outreach Zone the next day.

On Saturday evening Steph Cook (Gold Medallist, Modern Pentathlon, 2000 Sydney Olympics) and Bryan Steel (Bronze Medallist, Cycling Team Pursuit, 2000 Sydney Olympics; Silver Medallist, 2004 Athens Olympics) delivered motivational talks.
